Chalice Well

Limited parking for the disabled is available at the entrance. Most of the gardens are accessible with assistance.

Glastonbury Abbey

There is a car park adjacent to the entrance and a toilet for the disabled nearby. 95% of the whole complex is easily accessible, which includes the Ticket Office, Gift Shop and Museum. Wheelchairs are available on request.

Glastonbury Tor

This is not accessible for the disabled wheelchair user, but could be a possibility for the more energetic walking stick user.

Lake Village Museum

The Lake Village Museum is housed on the first floor of the Tribunal building and is therefore not accessible for the disabled. The Tourist Information Centre is on the ground floor of the Tribunal building and is accessible by two steps.

Rural Life Museum

The museum has its own car park and there are toilets for the disabled. Most parts of the museum are accessible although unfortunately not the upstairs.

Parking

Disabled parking spaces are available in all car parks. There is also a designated parking space for the disabled in the High Street opposite St. John's Church, and in Magdalene Street opposite the Town Hall.

Shopmobility

There is currently no Shopmobility Scheme operating in Glastonbury.

Toilets

Disabled facilities are available in the toilets situated in Magdalene Street and at St John's car park. These toilets can be accessed by Radar keys. Glastonbury Tourist Information Centre has a Radar key available for a small deposit.

Wheelchairs

Red Cross Hut at Street Football Club, Middlebrooks, Street, Tel. 01458 444811. Monday - Thursday 2.30pm - 4.00pm, Friday 10.30am - 12 noon.

 

Guide to Accommodation Grading

All accommodation establishments featured in this Guide have been quality assessed by either VisitBritain or the AA, (both nationally approved inspection agencies), or have recently applied and are awaiting assessment.

Using a simple ‘1 to 5 stars’ rating this grading system puts emphasis on quality. The more ‘stars’ the higher the overall quality guests can expect to find. The star rating scheme replaces the previously used diamond rating scheme.
The VisitBritain scheme also awards Gold and Silver ratings to properties that exceed their designated rating.
The AA uses a 1 to 5 ‘pennant’ rating scheme for caravan &camping sites.

If you have a complaint you should bring this to the attention of the establishment at the time, which allows the matter to be rectified. If the problem remains unresolved the complaint should be addressed to the appropriate inspection body.
